Jammu & Kashmir
Around 6 lakh families of Jammu and Kashmir have been covered under Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana. Now around 21 lakh families of Jammu and Kashmir who were not covered under Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana will be covered under SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme. This Health Insurance Scheme is linked with Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana. The most important feature of this Scheme is that every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir despite their financial status will be covered under SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme. Under this scheme, the government will bear the expenses of treatment of the citizen up to 5 lakh. Under SEHAT Health scheme 229 government hospitals and 35 private hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir have registered who will provide benefits of Scheme.
All Over India
Ayushman Bharat or “Healthy India” is a national initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the part of National Health Policy 2017, in order to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This initiative has been designed on the lines as to meet SDG and its underlining commitment, which is “leave no one behind”.
AyushmanBharat is an attempt to move from sectoral and segmented approach of health service delivery to a comprehensive need-based health care service. Ayushman Bharat aims to undertake path breaking interventions to holistically address health (covering prevention, promotion and ambulatory care), at primary, secondary and tertiary level.
CGHS Scheme
The Central Government Health Scheme (CHGS) provides healthcare to the employees and pensioners of the Central Government that are enrolled under this scheme. It covers health care under different systems of medicine, ranging from allopathy and homeopathy to Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Yoga. The beneficiary base spreads across 71 cities and covers more than 35 lakh beneficiaries.
Employment State Insurance Scheme
The Employees' State Insurance Scheme is an integrated measure of Social Insurance embodied in the Employees' State Insurance Act and it is designed to accomplish the task of protecting 'employees' as defined in the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 against the impact of incidences of sickness, maternity, disablement and death due to employment injury and to provide medical care to insured persons and their families. The ESI Scheme applies to factories and other establishment's viz. Road Transport, Hotels, Restaurants, Cinemas, Newspaper, Shops, and Educational/Medical Institutions wherein 10 or more persons are employed. However, in some States threshold limit for coverage of establishments is still 20. Employees of the aforesaid categories of factories and establishments, drawing wages upto Rs.15,000/- a month, are entitled to social security cover under the ESI Act. ESI Corporation has also decided to enhance wage ceiling for coverage of employees under the ESI Act from Rs.15,000/- to Rs.21,000/-.
ESI Corporation has extended the benefits of the ESI Scheme to the workers deployed on the construction sites located in the implemented areas under ESI Scheme w.e.f. 1st August, 2015..
